Our Process
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."
-Ignacio Estrada
Hi, I’m Jordan Burns, founder of Spectrum School.
I started Spectrum School because I am passionate about supporting students who learn differently.
As a classroom teacher, it broke my heart to see students struggle with frustration and low self esteem because they couldn't access the classroom curriculum, and I became dedicated to learning how how to support these students. I got a Certificate in Educational Therapy through the University of California Riverside, trained in Orton Gillingham through IMSE, and completed my Masters in Literacy and Dyslexia through the International Dyslexia Association Accredited program at the University of Central Arkansas.
The other Learning Specialists on the team and I have devoted our careers to effectively teaching students with learning differences, and approach our work with genuine enthusiasm, expertise, and warmth.
Providing your child with the tools they need to succeed academically is a gift that will last them a lifetime. Speak to us today about setting your child up with a learning specialist who can help them thrive.
Parent Testimonials
Amelia P, Parent
“Jordan has been a wonderful teacher for my son Tyler (now 8), and I have seen his confidence grow tremendously in the months they have been working together. She is very knowledgeable about the intricacies of teaching foundational reading and math, and managed to engage Tyler and get him on the right track when he was beginning to feel discouraged about school.“
Rachel M, Parent
“I can't begin to express how much I appreciate all that you have done for Drew. It's every parent's dream to have the best for their children, and you were the best! You helped him see himself as a strong, unique, creative, and talented individual who is proud of his struggles, thanks to you!”
Yanin L, Parent
“Jordan cares about her students. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone including parents of children who have disabilities or learning differences. Jordan really listened to my daughter. She assured me that she didn't think my daughter was lazy, she said my daughter was actually fatigued and frustrated. It turns out Jordan was right. My daughter is now getting the support she needs and has improved a lot.”
